Yes you read that title correctly! The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim now has mounted combat! Part of the 1.6 Update, Skyrim now allows you to travel the world and fight baddies without ever leaving the back of your trusted steed! As of now, this feature is only available to PC users who opt into the Beta patch via Steam, but will eventually be pushed to the consoles as well.
In addition to Mounted Combat being added to Skyrim, the patch fixes a plethora of bug fixes for the PC, as well as a few fixes for those experiencing bugs using the Kinect support on the Xbox 360.
Full patch notes can be found here.
For players who wish to opt into the Beta on Steam, make sure you back up your saved games!

EPIK!
Yea! Means these horses are worth more than just quick travel and easy storage when they die!
The new 1.6 update is brilliant! Just wish I hadn’t thrown Shadowmere off of the Throat of the World!
Cant wait till it hits console right now shadowmere is just a waist.
This means that the Knight class (and a couple of others) now becomes more viable than before. And the battles have just become more epic.
