When I first heard of ESO, I was interested. Then I heard that it was gonna play like a traditional MMO, became a game to try but more than likely not buy. Listened to the last podcast and this one. MUST BUY!

Telling all my friends who played Skyrim. (Or any other ES game.) :)

Listened to this and read every article online but until I play it myself I can’t really get on board. Not everyone plays the same way so your experience might be great for you guys but again until I have my own journey this game is on the maybe list.

i have a question and i know it has nothing to do with the post and i am sorry but why will bethesda not put in a NPC re-spawn for blacksmiths and venders when they get killed by a dragon it makes it hard to sell things when your over weight and so close to a town just to find out that a dang dragon killed everything again i am sorry for this post

great pod cast, sent an email in with a question, asking if the questing system was linear like WoW or more towards the way skyrim questing is!

More like a regular Elder Scrolls game. (ie. Skyrim, since you used the example)

  12. Cerppi October 27, 2012 at 10:02 am #

I was sceptical about ESO aswel cause of the “traditional mmo” speech everywhere, but after listening this podcast, it’s a must buy.

Thanks so much! Its easy to get excited when you finally hear what the game is like from ppl who’ve played it. Rather than forum trolls whining.

is there still the cool bound weapon type spells, invisibility, and alchamy skills like poisoning?

Didn’t see them, but that’s bc the classes available were heavy melee

I listened to the whole podcast and did get bored! you guys gave an amazing insight of the game. I must have screamed a billion times! you’ve created a junkie! Non stop playing Skyrim now!

you said something about lore in this podcast, my favorite part of oblivion/morrowind/skyrim were the books. Did they have new books? were they as good as some of the others and in depth and comprehensive. So excited for ESO

Hi, I am going to watch the whole video tomorrow, as a bit busy right now. I would just like to find out if 1st person view is available? And if so is it like Skyrim with your two hands in front of you? Judging by the comments can’t wait to watch the video! Super excited. Thanks !! :)

What about greifing durring a mission or an exploration of a dungen?

Great Podcast loved the description you guys went through! Thank you. But, Argonians Look different based on the amount of Hist tree sap they ingest when they are hatchlings. The more or less they ingest determines how humanoid they look or how reptilian.(Not including the mother as in TES lore the mother has the dominant looks passed on to the child.

  20. Mike October 28, 2012 at 7:31 pm #

Racial differences – did you see *anything* hinting at what they’ll be, other than obviously cosmetics? I’m dying to know what ESO’s gonna do with this aspect! lol

  21. Zack h October 28, 2012 at 9:34 pm #

I only needed to listen to half of the podcast to answer alot of the questions i had thank you guys very much and i hope to see you in game when its out.

Something to keep in mind. Pre-alpha & Alpha press previews like this are played on builds are optimized specifically for the machines you are playing on. Thus the graphics you see have been specifically optimized for you and the small amount of players that you will be playing with.

Often times during the further development of the game they have to lower the graphics reachable, in order to allow for stable play, once you introduce thousands of people onto a server. Instead of the 10-30 players that are playing during the preview.

Planetside 2 is the perfect example of this. When I played the Alpha press preview the game was gorgeous, amazingly textured, and beautifully lit. The game I am playing now in the beta is no where near as gorgeous as what I played in the press preview.

This is because once they started to introduce thousands of players on the server instead of 10-30, the systems couldn’t handle the more advanced graphics.

Hey this pod-cast was great, but a question that came to my mind when you were talking about replay value was; do you think that this game will have the addictive qualities of World of Warcraft?

  24. nakamura October 31, 2012 at 3:39 am #
