Episode 54: Dragonborn Mage Challenge

Thanks for another interesting episode. I’m glad that you are enjoying Dragonborn as much as I am. For me, a lot of the enjoyment comes from nostalgia; being back in Solstheim, hearing the Morrowind soundtrack, and revisiting familiar yet changed places is absolutely incredible. I was intrigued by the choice of Master Neloth as the representative Telvanni; he was my least favorite of the Telvanni masters in Morrowind, but so far it seems they’ve made him interesting enough in Dragonborn. My absolute favorite non-tracked quest (at least, I think it was non-tracked) involved Castle Karstaag; I won’t post any spoilers here but it ranks among my favorite moments so far in Dragonborn. I was slightly disappointed with the brevity of the Miraak questline, but all the other content more than makes up for that.
I was listening to you all talk about heavy Rp’ing Mages and did not hear anyone mention anything about dealing with locks as a mage. I have only played oblivion and skyrim, and while i have fallen for the system in skyrim, i miss some of the focus on magic in oblivion(open lock, telekinesis).I could play an all magic sneak if i wanted in oblivion. I’m glad that telekinesis was brought back in Dragonborn (im on ps3 btw) and want to hear your take.
