In an article posted by Joystiq, Bethesda’s Vice President of PR and Marketing said the company has no plans to bring any games to the Wii U.
“None of the games we’ve announced are being developed for the Wii U, so it’s guaranteed that none of those games are coming to Wii U,” Hines told Joystiq. “Will any future ones come out? I can’t say for sure, in our near-term focus it’s not on our radar.”
Hines went on to say that the Wii U hardware was the issue, saying Bethesda wants to “make the games that we want to make, on whatever platforms will support them as developed.” Hines said games like The Elder Scrolls Online “likely would have” been released on other consoles, like the Xbox 360, but it wasn’t possible due to hardware limitations.
If you were holding out hope of playing Elder Scrolls Online, Dishonored, or other future Bethesda titles on the Wii U, it may be time to abandon that notion.
