Commonly used in MMOs as a form of self-expression, emotes are coming to The Elder Scrolls Online, and ZeniMax Online Studios is giving players a chance to get their own ideas in the game.
Say, for example, you’re feeling particularly tired one day, you could type “/sleepy”, and your character might lay down on the ground and take a nap. Or maybe you’re in a frisky mood and you type “/dance”, and your character might start breaking it down. MMOs have had many options like these before, and ZOS wants you to help create the next great emote.
If you have a great idea for an emote, upload a video to YouTube and send the link to the ESO team at firstname.lastname@example.org with “Emote Creation Contest” in the subject line to enter. But hurry, the entry deadline is Friday night at 11:59 PM EDT.
If you want your emote to have a chance of winning, be sure to read their disclaimer:
“Please keep in mind that your emote must be your own creation. It must be appropriate for The Elder Scrolls lore, and can’t contain any pop culture references, copyrighted materials, or any vulgar imagery or sexual content.”
There are some great entries already submitted that ZOS has shared, which you can check out here. A list of emotes and a full description of all the many prizes that are available to win can be found on their website. Winners will be announced on October 11, and remember, that deadline is tonight!
