ESO Emperor Details in New Interview

Speaking with OXM, ESO Creative Director Paul Sage detailed how you can become Emperor in ESO, and just what perks you might see if you happen to obtain this hard-to-reach goal.

We already knew that a player in Cyrodiil could be crowned Emperor of Tamriel, though the details on exactly how were a little murky. According to the interview, players will have to dive headfirst into the PVP zone of Cyrodiil and really make their presence known. Killing enemies, healing allies and taking keeps will give you Alliance Points, as well as experience and loot. As your faction takes control of keeps in Cyrodiil, you will start to gain faction-wide bonuses. Finally when your faction takes over the keeps immediately surrounding the Imperial City, the player with the most Alliance Points in the faction will be crowned Emperor.

Players who become Emperor will get a full skill line that they keep throughout the rest of their lives in The Elder Scrolls Online. It won’t be easy to become Emperor, but we think people will be glad they worked for it - Paul Sage speaking with OXM

If your Alliance loses it’s grip on Cyrodiil and you lose the title of Emperor, you won’t lose the skill line that came with it, however. This lasting bonus, in my opinion, makes it worth aspiring to control all of Tamriel in the game. While your Emperor Skill Line won’t be as effective as it was while you held the title, you will still “be a force to be reckoned with.”

The OXM piece goes on to explain that engaging in PVP is the only way to obtain this title, so those who purely want a PVE experience won’t have a shot at the gamewide glory that comes with having your name for all to see as the best PVP player at the moment.

Who needs a fancy title when you can get a SKILL LINE that you can keep FOREVER!

i feel like the skill line should only be available for “the chosen one” i`m quite afraid that in a couple of months or even a year the skill line will become almost standard and that u can always see someone that was the emperor and that big guilds always have to adjust their guild with a player with that skill line or they might not be able to play PVP right now cause they need someone with that skill line to be online during the battle. For me a “fancy title” that showed the people that i once was the emperor or mby some special item u can wear like a flag or something would be really cool.

I have as much chance at being crowned Emperor in ESO as I do in real life…

It’s all very cool for those good enough to be contenders for the Ruby Throne. For the rest of us mere mortals, any interest is merely academic.

yeap, only the players ready to secrifice their real life and players ready to play hours and hours should be able to sit in the Ruby Throne.
